It was a big night for Mitt Romney with a sweeping victory among five states – Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.
The assumption has been made that Romney is already the presumptive nominee for President in the Republican Party. This assumption was made immediately after Rick Santorum suspended his presidential campaign. Sure, Newt Gingrich is still in the race but no where near the number of delegates that Romney has.
After tonight’s sweeping victory for Romney, Gingrich said that his campaign will be taking a serious realistic look at his presidential bid. He also encouraged his supporters to stand behind Mitt Romney as it seems that he will be the nominee. Gingrich reminded his supporters that it’s about voting President Obama out of office.
