Two teens from Toronto, Canada took a lego man and launched it into space. These high school students took their inspiration from watching a Youtube video of students from MIT launching a weather balloon.

According to Rochester Subway:

With $400 and a four months of free Saturdays, they designed and built a contraption consisting of Styrofoam, a couple of programmable point-and-shoot Canon cameras, a wide-angle video camera, a helium weather balloon, parachute, Super Glue, a GPS-enable cellphone… and one Lego man.

The teens made the launch from Newmarket, Ontario were able to retrieve the object in Peterborough, Ontario.
