Disney announces acquisition of LucasFilms from George Lucas. The purchase of the company was for $4.05 billion in stock and cash.

Because of the acquisition, Disney now has full control over the Indiana Jones and Star Wars franchises. It was also announced that Star Wars: Episode 7 will be released in 2015.

“Lucasfilm reflects the extraordinary passion, vision, and storytelling of its founder, George Lucas,” said Robert A. Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company. “This transaction combines a world-class portfolio of content including Star Wars, one of the greatest family entertainment franchises of all time, with Disney’s unique and unparalleled creativity across multiple platforms, businesses, and markets to generate sustained growth and drive significant long-term value.”

“For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next,” said George Lucas, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lucasfilm. “It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime. I’m confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organization, Star Wars will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come. Disney’s reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment, and consumer products.”

Under this deal, Disney will take ownership of Lucas’ studio. This is Disney’s third major acquisition in the past ten years, with Pixar included.

You also need to review what has been done during the president’s time.

This video examines what Obama has said before and what he actually means or explains what really has been done. While watching this video, ask yourself, is Barack Obama telling the truth?

UPDATED

Matt Fisher, a comedian for the “BS of A”, had a tragic loss of his sister in an automobile accident. Her insurance policy was through Progressive Auto Insurance. The case was well handled by the man who was the cause of the accident and took the blame. Simple case of fault but just how did Progressive Auto Insurance handle the situation? They completely avoided the situation, avoided to pay the policy amount purchased by Fisher’s dead sister, and even gave the defendant representation in the courts (his insurance was Nationwide, not Progressive). The case was found to be in favor of the Fisher family this last week, but Matt was not having it.

Fisher was so enraged that he released his story on tumblr. The results? A persistent denial of Progressive and a major PR Crisis on hand because of revealing proof against the insurance giant.

The story by Fisher is titled, “My Sister Paid Progressive Insurance to Defend Her Killer In Court“. He started the story off of how his sister got into a car accident that killed her on June 19, 2010. He never ruled out that she also could have played a role in the accident but a witness was on site that said the other driver ran the red light.

Matt explained further of what happened:

One indication that the case was pretty open-and-shut was that the other guy’s insurance company looked at the situation and settled with my sister’s estate basically immediately. Now, because the other driver was underinsured, that payment didn’t amount to much, but my sister carried a policy with Progressive against the possibility of an accident with an underinsured driver. So Progressive was now on the hook for the difference between the other guy’s insurance and the value of Katie’s policy.

With Fisher’s parents now carrying crushing payments to his sister’s student loans, they attempted to collect the rightful amount from her insurance company, but they refused to pay. The Fisher’s attempted to take the insurance company to court but Maryland has a law that states the insurance company cannot be sued but only the person responsible for the case, it is after that the insurance company would have to pay.

Now my parents don’t harbor much venom for the guy who killed my sister. It was an accident, and kicking that guy around won’t bring Katie back. But kicking that guy around was the only way to get Progressive to pay. So they filed a civil suit against the other driver in hopes that, rather than going to court, Progressive would settle. Progressive did not. Progressive made a series of offers (never higher than 1/3 the amount they owe) and then let it go to a trial.

At the trial, the guy who killed my sister was defended by Progressive’s legal team.

The trial was a real shitshow for my parents, and I did not love it either. As it happens, the jury did find that the other driver was negligent, which, if justice or decency are priorities for Progressive, will result in them finally honoring Katie’s policy. At this point, I hope you’ll forgive me if I wait for it to actually happen.

Matt Fisher published his story on Monday, August 13, 2012–following the court ruling. He wanted to get the word out in the world about Progressive and how they handled the situation. As a result, the twitter account of Progressive was flooded with people angry at their responses.Progressive’s response didn’t help either as they were caught delivering an automatic response to the situation with a link to their response.

I’d like to take this opportunity to explain Progressive’s role in this complex case. First and foremost, our deepest sympathies go out to Kaitlynn Fisher’s family.

To be very clear, Progressive did not serve as the attorney for the defendant in this case. He was defended by his insurance company, Nationwide.

There was a question as to who was at fault, and a jury decided in the Fisher family’s favor just last week. We respect the verdict and now can continue to work with the Fisher family to reach a resolution.

Chris Wolf
Claims General Manager
Progressive

It didn’t take long for the people of the social media world to find court documents only to find this. The Blaze reported the documents to say:

It is this 19th day of May, 2011, by the Circuit Court For Baltimore City, hereby ORDERED

1. That Progressive Advance Insurance Company be and is hereby allowed to intervene as a party Defendant.

2. That Progressive Insurance Company is GRANTED all rights to participate in this proceeding as if it were an original party to this case.

First off, the story does not settle well, seeing how the man was at clear fault before any court hearing, Progressive should have kept their end of the deal. But their persistence to avoid payment, especially by providing the defendant with lawyers shows their lack of responsibility and greed.

Also their persistence to deny that they represented the case failed due to court document evidence stating that they were representing the defendants.

Progressive Auto Insurance needs to own up. They have a serious Public Relations case on their hands and the handling of it is proving to be hurtful to the business. Thousands have already pledged to drop their policy with the company and more are expect to come. What are the numbers exactly, it is still unclear but Progressive is going to feel this for years to come.

Updated:

Due to Progressive’s denying involvement of defending the opposite party, Matt Fisher released his response and a clip of the Maryland Courts public records proving Progressive’s involvement:

At the beginning of the trial on Monday, August 6th, an attorney identified himself as Jeffrey R. Moffat and stated that he worked for Progressive Advanced Insurance Company. He then sat next to the defendant. During the trial, both in and out of the courtroom, he conferred with the defendant. He gave an opening statement to the jury, in which he proposed the idea that the defendant should not be found negligent in the case. He cross-examined the plaintiff’s witnesses. On direct examination, he questioned all of the defense’s witnesses. He made objections on behalf of the defendant, and he was a party to the argument of all of the objections heard in the case. After all of the witnesses had been called, he stood before the jury and gave a closing argument, in which he argued that my sister was responsible for the accident that killed her, and that the jury should not decide that the defendant was negligent.

I am comfortable characterizing this as a legal defense.

So far, Progressive’s continuing handling this situation is a nightmare! Their responses seems heartless and the evidence countering their claims is building. This is effecting both their brand and business.

MoveOn.org just released a new political ad, featuring some kind of horse resembling the one that belongs to Anne Romney. Yes, its attack the rich ad, making the Romney’s look filthy rich and they are out of touch with today’s society. This has wrong written all over it. Why? Two reasons:

1. Anne Romney has something called, MS (Multiple Sclerosis). This disease slowly breaks down the body, sometimes leaving the person with uncontrollable shakes. Mitt, bless his heart, saw that riding hoses helps his wife manage MS. So yes, they own a horse, and yes, Anne rides it every moment she can. There is not a cure for the uncontrollable MS disease. If you knew a loved one with any kind of health issues I bet you would do the same thing for them too either with your own financial means or you would do what you can to make it happen.

2. MoveOn.org is the one attacking Anne for her disease but who is really funding it? Do you know a man by the name of George Soros? He’s the head of General Electric, only one of the riches men in the world (I believe he’s #35), and Romeny doesn’t even come close to richest. Romeny’s net worth is about $200 million ($200,000,000) but Soros who is funding MoveOn.org is reported to have a net worth of $20 billion ($20,000,000,000). I believe that’s more zeros for Soros compared to Romney.

So why is one of the richest men in the world attacking another man who is not even close to one of the richest? Why are you feeding into the rich are wicked mambo-jumbo when it’s the richest that is feeding you the bowl of crap?

Because, Soros craves power and control. He is a major influence of Agenda 21 that is being made law into some local towns and cities. What is Agenda 21? Let’s say, it’s from the Untied Nations and it’s a control law that, when enforced, it will allow the military to remove you from your home and force you to live in government controlled facilities in the city. Conspiracy Fact but there is much more to Agenda 21 then just that (that’s for your to find out).

Romney is a business man. He created his own wealth, unlike Soros. He believes in a free people, to do what they want and the ability to succeed by starting a business if they wanted too. Romney is a threat to the UN and Soros. If he wins, does that mean our country is whole again? No, but he committed in writing that he will put in place policies to make the government more efficient, to keep this country financially free, and to keep you free.

I for one, do not like the idea of China or Iran running our country, and the United Nations houses those countries along with other world leaders (mostly unelected dictators), to run our nation.

Here is the George Soros funded political ad that attacks Anne’s disease:

Are you buying into the Soros funded ad? What do you think about Agenda 21?

In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, and as you can see in the trailer, Bond was “killed” by M for death. No matter how personal the cost, 007 must track down and destroy the threat. Starring Daniel Craig, Skyfall is due out in theaters November 9, 2012.

New rumor in the technology world happens to be focused on the Apple iPhone 5. There’s already concepts coming out of random renditions on what people think the next iPhone will be. This claimed leak from China could be the next version of the next iPhone will look like. Seeing how the iPhone is manufactured in China we can only suspect that this footage could be the real deal. This video clip is quite convincing.

If what this video shows to be true then we can see that this is the first unibody iPhone that will be released along with the first mini pin connecter ever. In addition to this nectar of goodness, we can see that the screen is larger which could bring a true widescreen retna display to cinematic quality video. If this is true, then the rumors that have been circulating over the past 2-3 years of the iPhones are now right and we are going to see a big major overhaul since the iPhone 4. I guess we will soon find out when September 12 arrives for Apple’s reveal.

It’s common for Hollywood movies to be dark, to leave you thinking, and to have depressed endings. That was very true for The Dark Knight (2008) when Batman had to take his first life, Harvey Dent aka Two Face. The typical Hollywood ending did not apply, though, to The Dark Knight Rises.

It’s a rare thing for me to leave a movie happy, filled with joy, and hope. That’s exactly what Christopher Nolan’s final Batman installment did.

With the story of Bruce Wayne (Batman), his life is full of anger, vengeance, justice, and morning. His life never seemed to end happily, always continuing on the dark road. Nolan, with his talent in movies, gave Bruce Wayne the happy ending that he never had.

The movie, is far more than the ending. It’s comparable to our current state in this world with ecominc woes and uncertainty. Bane’s plan for Gotham was to fill hope and dreams to the people of Gotham and then crush them when they least expect it. Tom Hardy may have worn a mask but the expressions of the eyes of the villain were incredible. His voice was unique but clear. His performance was no Heath Ledger, it was all Tom Hardy.

Catwoman played an amazing manipulative role in both the fall and the saving of Gotham. I will admit, I had much concern about Anne Hathaway playing Selina Kyle, just as much as I thought Heath Ledger wouldn’t deliver the role of the joker well. Both instances, I was wrong. Hathaway delivered in away that no woman had ever played the cat before. Watch her as her demeanor changes in a blink of an eye. From save me from this hell to I’m going to beat hell into you, Hathaway is the best catwoman up to this date.

Now what about Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Watch his character, John Blake. His role is bigger than you think. Levitt, played a “hot head” cop, quick to observe and figure out truth quickly. No secret can be hidden with him around and his story runs similar to that of Wayne. I was taken by surprised what his role really was but it made sense to the story and Nolan’s world. Levitt maybe young but truly delivered a tough cop role.

The movie is long but the continuing flow of the film makes time fly by. The story is written well, and where I thought I had the comic book history down, Nolan threw in twists that made me think he was taking things one direction but before you know it, it turned to how the comics had been written, speaking of the role of the villains (yes, it’s plural).

This movie will leave you feeling good. The writing and performance is fantastic. The story is unexpected and yet, expected. It’s the movie of the year. I give this movie 5 out of 5 stars.
